Well the title is probably about right. How do you start a blog?
It’s something I’ve asked loads of people and not one single answer was the same, so a month after I was invited to do this, I’m still none the wiser, so I think I’ll just type away and see what comes together.
This blog came about in response to an article I suggested to the Journal last September.
I run a photography website called Enjoying Photography and we were approaching the site’s 1st anniversary.
As it seemed to have taken off quite well, with plenty of members and input from various parts of the professional photographic world, we thought it might be something of interest to the paper.
Well it turned out that the article didn’t happen but Graeme Whitfield got in touch to ask if I’d write a blog on photography, as it seems to have taken off recently with the change to digital making it more accessible to the public.
Well never having written anything seriously I was a little unsure, but decided I had nothing to lose, so long as I could tie it in with the website.
So here goes. My name is David Brennan and I’m a photographer! Not a professional (I’ve got a normal desk job!) but far enough along the line for enough people to be impressed. I’m fast approaching 40, married to Bev and we have an 11 year old daughter Caitlin.
As I said earlier, I’m the main admin on the Enjoying Photography website and also have a small photographic business which I run with my friend, Dave Fletcher.
For the life of this blog I’ll be giving you my thoughts on photography, either what I’m up to or what is happening in the photographic world and hopefully, helping the odd person along the way with their photography
